Ghesmat

If there were any doubt whether a more intelligent entity controls our fates, the fabric of our existence, each thread and very particle, a master seamster deciding how it should all unfold, a series of events made it abundantly clear where our next steps would take us.

Not coincidence. Ghesmat. In English, they call this Kismet, which roughly translates to fate or something meant to be. I cannot ignore that so many events unrolled one after the other, bringing to sharp focus the plan that had hitherto been hidden. Yesterday, the following all happened, one after the other:

 1. The utility company stopped the option of payment plans. Mundane, I know. But this had been a huge piece of financial oppression pushing us under. The idea that we wouldn't even be able to pay a little at a time made it abundantly clear that this expensive city that so loves its taxes is no longer an option for us. $600/month just for utilities was painful.

2. Our landlord finally gave us the 90 day notice that he would be selling the residence that we are renting and that we would have to vacate. Yes, we could seek a cheap claptrap apartment for refuge, but coupled with the crushing utilities and inflated cost of living, it would be too much.

3. A manager at a neighboring clinic contacted me with a job offer, which I accepted. My current job's manager was becoming desperate with all the medical assistants and nurses leaving for better pay and benefits, tightening the vice with all manner of tasks and demands trickling down from the far removed glass castles of administration that were no longer feasible given the remaining skeleton crew of employees. I should have seen the writing on the wall sooner, what with all the cuts they were making and all the fat being trimmed, the staff scurrying away to higher ground in droves, but I stuck it out for the health insurance. With another job secured, however, I am empowered to give my notice as soon as I receive the job offer in writing.
