The Great Rat Caper of 2021
So left my car for a tune up before I left on vacation...Just when it was to be delivered I get a call:
Them: "Errrrrrm you have a bit of a problem...You must have had a rat get in your motor section and it chewed up a bunch of the wires."
Me: "What?"
Them: "Errrrrrm you have a bit of a problem...You must have had a rat get in your motor section and it chewed up a bunch of the wires."
Me: "What????"
Me: "Okay how much is that going to cost me? (Honestly expecting it to be like $300-$500)
Them: "Estimate is at $4,000 right now."
I felt a swift punch in the stomach...I was about to take off out of country on a home finding trek to some jungle ass state full of tiny Mayans and that's the last think you expect to hear from your mechanic.
But I knew I needed it done...Having no car in California is NOT an option...We are addicted, so I told him to go ahead and fix it.
Right before he hung up he mention this happens often in wooded areas with tree rats and raccoons etc and that USUALLY the insurance covers part of it.
So I crossed my fingers and called my Insurance and I fucking LOVE Farmer's Insurance...Bit more than the average insurance company but they sent a assessor who took pics and they set up my rental car and I'll now get my car back all supped up with new wires and a tune up...Basically any rubber hoses or wires that were damaged will be replaced! My only part is $250...Whew!
Oh here's Noodles taking a refreshing dip in Merida:
After climbing up his fat ass up a Pyramid in the Mayan Jungle:
Oh and cooling down with a HUGE Schooner of delicious Mojito and a double Tequila Shot of Añejo Tequila which was about $4.50!...Crazy cheap!...It'd be a terrible place to retire if you're an alcoholic or Irish:
