Getting ready for my new side job and have a million things bouncing in my head as I drink my coffee and it hit me.

I know a LOT of people who make very decent money...$100k each or double that with their husband's or wife's income.

But they are all just fascades:

They "own" a house they can barely pay...They have nice cars they can ill afford...They do things, but are always running to steal from Peter to pay Paul.

They have lots of things, but nothing is theirs, few things are paid off.

Annnnnnd of the things that are paid off they really don't have any worth if they needed to sell them...Except for their guns.

Went to work and was talkimg to an old partner and everyone is spooked, but no one is really downsizing EXCEPT FOR ONE...He's selling his house and cashing out.

The rest are hoping that things will somehow get better...As if by Magic:

Then another partner is going through it...Love the fucker, but dude is close to 400lbs...Giant Sikh guy...Nicest guy in the world, but he NEVER takes care of himself.

Eats terribly, doesn't exercise, works crazy hours and is fucking diabetic.

I mean his sister and cousin just died of diabetes related issues...What can I do for him as a friend that he doesn't need to do for himself?

Went to work for a form I needed and most of my partners coming in looked fatter and not healthy.

Above everything...Money or material things your HEALTH is the most important.

Fuck having money if you're body hurts or you feel like death.

But we get so trapped in wanting more that we drive ourselves into the grave chasing the Great Rat Race.
