In Costa Rica and after 6 days here so far with another 3 to go I can honestly say?

DON'T GO TO COSTA RICA.

Has some nice people, has some nice places on the coast far from the city, cheaper and better quality.

But as a whole?

CR sucks...I seriously have zero idea how the people here make it...Why they pay what they do when they make so little???

It is a rich country being plundered...They have great coffee and crops etc ALL THE GOOD STUFF?  EXPORTED OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

Then the scraps and ugly fruits and veggies are sold to the population at prices that are the same as the US when people here make about $14 a day OR LESS.

I think that's why everyone is so money hungry looking.

Now I've traveled in poor areas all the time...But usually there's a trade off.

It's rough but the food is amazing!  The drinks are cheap!  The women are hot!  There's tons to do at a cheap rate etc.

Most of Costa Rica is beautiful, but after a few days of jungle you just want a good piece of pudding cake and a strong coffee.

Nope to both here...I was a bit shocked being they grow so much Ethiopian  coffee bean here.

I am not talking bad about the people, they seem very nice, but their system is leading to being a country to be used for their resources and people to be the servants of the Rich Western Countries.

ESPECIALLY THE EUROPEANS.

I do think that being this poor does help people bond better, make stronger connections and friendships not the shallow bullshit we have in the US.

But there has to be a middle ground...Their push to be a Tourist Haven where about 60% of their GNP is based on it has trapped them into that subservient role.

I wish them well, but I for one cannot wait to get the fuck out of here...They can keep their pretty butterflies, sweet sloths or beautiful jungles.

Even Tijuana, with it's non-stop murders, insane drugs and cartel crime has a crazy fun cheap and delicious atmosphere.

I mean sure there's bodies hanging from the bridge, but you see the hot dog/taco cart guy underneath?

I bet his shit was delicious and he still made his quota for that night...Want to know why?

Because it was delicious, clean and cheap.

Taco/Hot Dog Guy:  "What bodies are you talking about?  I don't see nothing."

I find it sad that I am NOT kidding that I would have rather ate at that taco truck than almost all the places I've ate at here in CR.

Did Costa Ricans learn to cook from the Germans and English???

It's bland as fuck and no not talking about chili or spice just taste.
