So when I was younger I NEVER had medical insurance, life insurance, car insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance etc.

Because I was just a Poor Joe barely making it...Can't pay for something I can't afford right?

Never asked for medical or medicare etc...Just tried to stay healthy and not get sick or hurt was my only option.

When I finally got into a career that paid well I got EVERYTHING...At 31.

If the option was x for $$$ or X for $$$$ I ALWAYS got X.

My partners would tease:  "Why did you get that extra insurance?"

Well over the years it's protected me from multiple things and paid for itself.

I recently got a bill that was $182,512 for a 6 day stay in ICU when I almost died in September...My part of it was $100.

No deductable, no payments for life, no liens, lawsuits NOTHING...Just $100.

My difference between that and my partner's plans were $29 a month...Many of my partners get hurt or sick and out 3-9 months suddenly realize that for a few bucks they could have been covered completely, but being cheap ended up costing them more.

So I know some of you are struggling, BUT WHEN YOU CAN, raise your coverage ESPECIALLY your auto insurance.

The difference won't be too much, the result will be the difference between being completely fucked or walking away with no liability.

Sounds stupid, sounds what old people say, sounds like you don't need it...Trust me you will need it when you can least afford it and least can handle it.
