So I have a friend who is deep into Santeria, he went as far as studying under a Warlock and after like years of studying, he recently went to Cuba to have some sort of 3 week Ceremony.

Which I find kinda straight bullshit...They sell you items they say you're going to need...Literally this:

"Hey you need an amulet to gather your power and purify it...This is the LS Model and is only $25,000 pesos, but if you want the super duper model LX that's $35,000."

They actually UPSELL you shit, which they mysteriously make and sell.

Anyways, I previously had known some Santeros down in the San Diego/TJ area so I knew their beliefs and the part where they have to do an entire year of penitence as an apprentice.

You can't sleep on a bed.

You can't use utensils. 

Can't go out at night.

Have to be dressed in all white for a year etc etc.

Well my friend and his GF stopped by, we caught up, they ate and drank and left.

All cool.

Then it hit me.

That dude ate with utensils, was out at night although he did have his head covered, was dressed in white and was wearing like 60 necklaces like a small Hispanic version of Mr. T.

He was half assing it in other words.

Well that was disappointing although I don't mess with that stuff...I mean whatever you decide to do good or bad, you should do your best, not just do the easy things and pretend you're drawing between the lines.

I wonder if they get like 3 mulligans to fuck up and it doesn't count?
