Never Really Believed

Some archeologist report that they assumed there were over 400 major Mayan cities and towns that had 25,000+ inhabitants in the South of Mexico and the Peninsula.
I was all..
"If they were that big where's all the buildings and roads etc?
Like the Greek or Roman civilizations.
Never took the jungle seriously though.
It's the Rainy Season here, so everything is growing and in less than 3 months entire ACRES of worked fields next to me are gone and all you see is high brush and trees.
As tall as I am and growing.
I had to cut a 10 meter parameter around my wall because it'll climb and crumble it if it attaches.
A 1 story building left to the elements here with no maintenance would stay visible about 2 years then all you would see is brush and plants.
Vines would break windows, roots with crumble cement, trees would go through roofs.
In a century there be no trace except for some bits of alloys, plastics and Styrofoam.
It's crazy at how quickly it all can disappear if the Jungle decides to push through.
Note: I did enhance the light filter on the pic, cus it was dusk...But no messing with the colors etc.
