Nice to meet you! I am Darcy.
First of all thank you for reading my profile! Not many people take te time for that, but I very much appreciate that you do!
In the following I will not list the things I do and do not like, no, that would make it to easy for you and you wouldn't get to know me at all. I'd rather just speak my mind and tell you a few things about me and you may figure out yourself what kind of person I am, and what kinds of things I like.
Asking a question about it is a good conversations starter btw. please feel free to do so, because I hate nothing more than smalltalk and messages that start with "Hey how are you, whats up?". It has nothing to do with being narrow minded and not appreciating ploliteniess, I do. I just have other reasons for not liking smalltalk. You may ask about it if you want. =)
Also I do NOT like non serious flirting NOR sending around pictures of certain body parts... If I wanna se a mans "Joy stick" I'd be on a different site, thank you ver much.
I'm a bit old schooled and just a hopeless romantic.
So now that this is out of the room here is a bit more about me. I am very much of a nerd. I have a Master's degree in Biotechnology and work as a molecular biologist (yes that means I know how the different vaccines work and I will not halt from explaining it in dertail if necessary) and my job is my passion, I really enjoy what I am doing for a living! Because of that passion I am also a little bit of a witch and certainly have a green thumb. Beware I know a lot of poisonous things :D:D:D
Aside from that I am a very creative person, I love to do all kind of things that involve crafting things with my own two hands. I like to say that my paintbrushes are magic wands ;)
I also love music and play different kinds of instruments. But I am not living in the last century I also do my fair share of video gaming and am a huge nerd in that field too.
Hmm what else is there to say about me...
I am actually pretty shy in real life but the mask of anonymity the internet provides makes me less shy online so I may appear a little differently in conversation online. I think my shy side is also pretty much reflected in my interests. I don't really like festivals and huge concerts because its noisy and a lot of strangers are there. I am no party person and certainly not a "social butterfly". To most I appear cold and uninterested at first because I prefer to silently observe first before approaching. Also I hate introducing myself to others in real life. I prefer to be introduced or not having to make the first step. I jsut hate approaching people. I'm one of those bubble people that are happy inside their bubble and hate to leave their bubble alone. :D
Now that was already a lot for the start. I guess you may know now what kind of person I am and hopefully you have an idea what to talk about if you want to chat with me. =)
If not just ask my what my favourite enzyme is! You won't be hit with silence...

I had a terrible nightmare about being left by my significant other because I'm a disssapointment and a failure as a human being. I know it was just a dream but it still nags in my mind because it is a fear I've had for a while now and dreams about real people alwas hit me hard because I usually don't dream at all, don't remember or my dreams are very abstract things....
So real people dreams with lifelike situations always feel like a terrible foreboding...I had a terrible nightmare about being left by my significant other because I'm a disssapointment and a failure as a human being. If you own one of those tacky track suits/pyjamas made from this stretchy soft nikki velvet fabric... BE GRATEFUL be fucking grateful for those taiwanese seamstresses that made it for below minimum wage...BE FECKIN GRATEFUL you didn't have to sew it yourself... this fabric is a BITCH to work with! it is silpping on the good sides, needs 100 pins and clamps to hold it in place and the result will still come out crooked. And I was only making a pillow..

I thin I'm finally done with christmas shopping! I had to do some last minutes gifts for some christmas party I am invited to...Luckily i coudl avoid having to go to the town center for this...

What I hate most about this season aside from overcrowded christmas markets and pretending to like glühwein is having to think of christmas presents for people...

I forced myself to work at least 1h every day on that blasted wig and I'm finally making progress in re-arranging all the wefts. I'st starting to be fun again...Soon I' can get to the fun Styling part =) My Plan is to have at least the weft sweing part finished by the end of this year. And since I leave for home on sunday, I have to finish that part this week! Also I found the perfect fabric for the missing cape of this cosplay today!I forced myself to work at least 1h every day on that blasted wig and I'm finally making progress in re-arranging all the wefts. Yaaayy! I'm pretty again when I smile lika a lunatic
I found a dentist who was willing to fix me tooth without appointment and he was quite skillful too! Reconstructed my tooth permanently so don't need to get a dental crown!!! Think I found my new go to dentist in town!
I know I was probably very dramatic about the whole thing....I just struggle a lot with body dismorphia and my teeth are something about me that I actually find OK, if not even pretty. So having a very visible tooth broken apart (again!) made me feel really ashamed to talk without covering my face. Also it gives a terrible lisp and I was bullied for having a slight lisp as a kid so this was anoter hit on the insecurity bingo card for me...
I'm just very particular about my teeth ok?

Why is it that when you go to a larger modern clinic with two front desk persons one of them is at least trying to help you out while the other is always a beast that wants to get rid of you asap.?!
I'm already at the verge of tears and feel helpless being mean doesn't help with that! I could cry!! Life really knows how to piss on me and not even sell it to me as rain...
I just broke a front tooth (again) and the broken piece got lost this time... let's hope I find a dentist tomorrow who can fix it for the holidays until I can get a dental crown...
I just wanted a week of peace before the holidays and this is the second shit that happened to me within the first two days of my vacation...I could cry!! Life really knows how to piss on me and not even sell it to me as rain... I think I'm starting to have a creative burnout due to regular burnout...
Somehow my latest "Just-for-fun" cosplay project that I just did for the sake of fun not for an upcoming convention or contest has become my "Frustration-Project". And that sucks!
The wig I'm styling for it is not making any progress and I have been working on and off on it for 2 Months...I never worked on such a complex wig re-styling with constructing a detachable Ponytail before, so I expected it to take longer... But whats frustratiing is that I dont't get to, or can't motivate myself to work on it for more than one hour per week on average. Which is really frustrating!
I really want to finis it to start on other things...I know if I just put it aside for other things I will never pick it up again to finish it.
