Soooooooooo
Listened to a video on Dostoevsky.
Interesting fellow...Had been tortured by the Czar, before his pardon, who went on to write some tedious, but amazing books on the Human Condition.
"Crime and Punishment" and "Brothers Karamzov" being some of his most famous.
What caught my attention was his thoughts on Self Deception in his books.
Where a person will lie about something so well, that they believe the lie and BECOME EMOTIONALLY AFFECTED AS THOUGH IT HAPPENED HOW THEY SAID.
I've seen this in real life multiple times, where the person who caused the bullshit HONESTLY believes they are the victim and will change things to fit that idea.
Even me and I try to be super critical with myself, I try not to make excuses for the bullshit I get myself into BECAUSE I KNOW WHEN I'M GETTING MYSELF INTO BULLSHIT.
But I was thinking of past relationships where I remember myself as the one who was fucked over, but when I REALLLLLLLY looked at it...I had it coming.
Not saying they were innocent either, but I could see how and why it happened and how I allowed it, fermented it or ignored it till it became a problem.
You get what you allow.
I do wonder how many people here and ONLY see themselves as "Winners" or "Victims" and that's their entire persona.
Either can NEVER be wrong or are ALWAYS the victim.
