Was Here, Now Gone

Was Here, Now Gone
Written By: Aimee Suzanne
Here lies a heart that sought to be seen,
In shadows cast where laughter had been.
She felt adrift in a world so wide,
Where warmth was scarce and hope would hide.
She carried dreams like a fragile thread,
But found only silence, where words once bled.
A scapegoat dancing for the jests of the crowd,
Longing for solace, yet feeling unbowed.
Promises whispered, like dust in the air,
Vanished like phantoms, leaving her bare.
Grass that looked greener turned brittle and brown,
In a garden of heartache, she wore the frown.
Loneliness wrapped her in sorrow’s embrace,
Watching the world move at a joyous pace.
Each smile she offered was met with disdain,
A fool in the play, enduring the pain.
Yet in the silence, her spirit would sigh,
If death would beckon, she’d not ask why.
For slipping away to a place unknown,
Seemed better than cherished, but lonely to own.
Remember her kindly, a soul on the brink,
A laugh that was lost in the depths of the ink.
For she sought understanding where none could remain,
And traded her laughter for echoes of rain.
Here rests a truth wrapped in layers of grief,
A heart that sought warmth, arrived at belief.
Let not her tale vanish like shadows at dawn,
For she loved, she struggled, and then she was gone.
