After living for 3 months in Singapore I can tell you dispite earning less than the UK; I am in a better financial situation. Tax is way lower, cost of living is lower, and the quality of life is much better. Last year I took my Partner to the UK to meet the family and tour; Japanese she always had this vision of the UK - that quickly was shattered. Take my home town Birmingham; even in the affluent city center it looked dirty, run down and unsafe.
