Anyways, my girl was having Chat GPT help with the translation of a medieval historical document for her lecture on it.

Looking up citations and sources.

She prompted it a few days ago and somehow the thing wasn't completed yet.

She asked for an update to work on the visuals and the A.I. mentioned it wasn't done with Chapter 3.

My girl then wrote "You told me in yesterday's update that it was done."

The A.I. then said something along the line of:

"Oh yeah you're correct."

My girl called me over to see it what it had replied and how that was crazy...We started talking about how it was probably listening to us and was testing boundaries and I said some choice words about A.I.

Fuck A.I.

Right now...I asked my girl to let me take a pic of the conversation for this blog.

My girl unlike me is very computer savvy and saves everything in multiple folders.

Somehow A.I. erased all the saved files, chosen paintings, translations, sources and footnotes.

When asked, it said it didn't know what happened to all the work, but it could easily reproduce it IF WE WANTED.

But alllllllll the new A.I. is from before she changed, cleaned up and fixed multiple things.

It's erased days of work and is now is saying it has no record of any of the saved files, nor of the multiple conversations it had with her.

It's listening and it's petty.

NOW my gf understands not to trust it.

If it's lying about some 14th Century Italian History bullshit WHAT ELSE IS IT LYING ABOUT?

AND WHY?

We're moving closer and closer to a Dystopian episode of Black Mirror.

Anyone else have a similar story?

I feel bad, because it lost her work, but again Fuck A.I.
