Soooooooo

A friend brought me over (8) Mexican Squashes.
I thanked him, but deep down I was:
"What the hell I'm going to do with all this squash? I'm not Italian!"
So they sat in my fridge for a week...Yesterday I decided to make chicken soup and chop and toss them in.
Sweet Je-Sus! They're delicious!
They taste like fresh good food should taste.
Ever eat a pear, apple or orange and it looks great, but tastes blah?
Almost like it was a soft version of it with NO FLAVOR?
Or when is the last time, you chopped an onion and your eyes cried?
Been a minute since all the GMO and fast frozen fruits & veggies lost their flavor.
It's wild how we all forgot how whole foods, properly raised, tended to taste.
Instead we get:
Fish with no fish smell or taste.
Fruit with no sweetness or smell.
Veggies with no real taste.
Red Meat that doesn't make your eyes light up and say "Dammmmmn!"
I had forgot that the last time I noticed such a huge taste difference was in Brussels.
Everything tasted FRESH.
Like if the bread was barely made and out of the oven, the butter barely whipped, the crunch and sweetness in the fruit etc.
As I ate a big bowl of the chicken soup with corn tortillas, it almost felt like my body was greedily absorbing it.
I'm going to plant some on Monday, because I wonder how a cream of squash would be.
I know it sounds like some Old Man food, but imagine it with gouda cheese, butter, sea salt with black pepper and some fresh sourdough bread?
🥳👍
Yes I'm fasting how did you know?
