A road I drove to get home last night, as the storm was starting. Photo taken earlier today (not by me). What made things as bad as they are is that it started as rain, then changed to snow, so everything clung to the trees, branches, etc., weighing them down to the breaking point.

Quite wild that it took for spring to arrive for New Hampshire to actually have a major statewide winter storm. Some parts of the state had 18" (45 cm) fall. My part had a bit of snow, then a change to sleet, freezing rain, then rain. And parts like here have a ton of power outages, with trees falling left and right. My power lasted most of the day, but has been out for a couple of hours now - more than 60% of the town is without power at the moment. I've got a 100 Ah LiFePo battery running a 2500W inverter to keep the heat going overnight. I'm hoping it doesn't stay out long enough to need the generator - no power here means no water, and this inverter isn't going to run the well pump! The weather is on crack, yo!
