Big loss for Republicans challenging the practice. Justice Barrett wrote the majority opinion joined by Roberts + the three liberals. Alito, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh dissented, Alito nailed it saying this doesn’t match the plain meaning of “Election Day” or centuries of practice.

Translation: Places like California can keep taking their sweet time “finding” ballots days (or weeks) later and it’s all good.

We need REAL election integrity, same-day voting, strict deadlines, voter ID, and no more games where the count drags on until the “right” number appears.
