Grape Kun was born in a Tokyo zoo, but life was pretty good, he found a partner and had a child. Unfortunately the zoo ended up taking their chick away to prevent any potential inbreeding and that really took a tool on their relationship. Grape Kun’s partner left him for a younger penguin and he couldn’t find a new mate so he spent most of his time alone and isolated. Then the zoo put out some anime cardboard cutouts as a promotion. Hululu was put in Grape Kuns exhibit and he just turned into a total creep... He’d just stare at the cutout for hours and try to get as close as possible to it at all times, he even tried initiating a few mating rituals with it. But he became happy and more active because of it. He became an internet sensation and even got to meet the voice actress for Hululu who he had zero interest in because she wasn’t cardboard. Grape Kun’s age caught up with him and he was sent to the hospital but the cutout was sent with him so his final moments were spent with his second love.".
