Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce: A regional minority chamber of commerce headquartered in White Plains, Maryland, serving the Southern Maryland business community (Charles County/Waldorf area). SMMCOC functions as a growth hub for minority-owned enterprises, offering membership benefits, a member directory, educational programming, mentorship, networking events, and sponsorships. Distinctively, it combines traditional chamber services with policy advocacy — monitoring new legislation and hosting bill hearings — plus STEM initiatives and a 24/7 Southern Maryland Virtual Business Resources Center. Its stated purpose is building 'a culture of entrepreneurship' that creates generational and community wealth in the southern region, supported by around-the-clock phone response and multiple payment options for accessibility.
