My new sofa and carpet 🙂

owchie I just slipped on the stairs =( I will have an impression of the steps printed in purple on my back and butt for the next few weeks I guess. And of course that happened when there were like 3 people to see me falling beyond gracefulness. Why am I such a clutz?! (for pain reference: the stairs were made of stone with sharp edges. no carpets whatsoever)

Problem solved regarding how to paint the baseboards, without getting any on the carpet - just peel the carpet back. The tack strips used make that pretty easy. Just need to stretch it back into place, and push it back onto the tack strips. Second coat done on the baseboards! Then time to peel off any of the painter's tape, and take care of any needed touch-up work. Then finally done!

Less enjoyable than painting: masking off around the trim. Not sure yet what I'll do about protecting the carpet. I would prefer to not have to take the baseboards off. I'll see if I can tuck something under them, like cardboard. And I still also need to mask around the windows themselves - they're aluminum, so won't paint them; they'll stay white, whereas all of the trim will be black.
