Hmm either the company I work for has just given me some incredible leverage to practially demand a raise or the whole thing has a big catch and they hope that I am to gullible to see it.

They recently laid off 20 % of the employees becasue of funding problems. Unfortunateley they also fired the person who was appointed officer for biological safetey... Now they desperateley need another employee to become that. But there is only a handfull of people who can thake the position as it has special requirements. Most suitable people don't want it because it is a hassle. I am amongst those few suited ones and they just asked me yesterday if I were interested in getting that extra qualification.
TBH I don't really want the hassle that comes with it and I am planning to leave the company as soon as I find a better job anyway. But the qualification will look very hot on my resume...
I have been fighting for a wage increase. Since I know they are desparate, I could practically bribe them into giving me a BIG fat raise or I will just not do it.
What do I have to loose? They can only say no then I'll also say no too. So what? It is a voluntary extra position, they cannot fire me for declining the responsibility. For me, things will stay same and they'll still have no one to be Biological safetey officer. Their probelm.

But I am not trusting them anymore so I kinda smell a rat (not the cute cuddly kind that smells like love and popcorn)...what could it be???
Will I have to give up my project lead position? Is it a degradation in disguise? WHAt could be the catch???

Stupidest comment I saw today was trans people rarely kill others biological white men kill more people.. first Im not entirely sure if that is true but if that is the basis of your argument.. Robin Westman was born biologically male and white. Instead of caring how the crap they identified why not care about the 2 deceased children ages 8 and 10 and the 14 plus other victims though wounded will survive. This is the problem we're more worried about what to call the headline than the actual victims. You dont have to like my comment but I said what I said. I don't care who you identify as or who you sleep with you murder a child you are a piece of crap no matter how you identify.

Some idiot at work ordered potassium cyanide without checking if we have the necessary safety measurments to store such a substance. (we are a biological lab and usually don't work with stuff that is THAT toxic so we don't have a locked Tox storage). Now our safety officer is really pissed cause it became their problem now.

Now I am really tempted to bring almond/marzipan cookies to work tomorrow and offer them to that said idiot :D

I never felt as if I really belonged anywhere, except with my biological dad and granny. Sadly, only my dad is left out of the two. My dad has a car now, instead of a tent, and we're good emotional support for each other. There's not much I can do, since I'm looking for housing myself, but I enjoy having phone calls with him. I probably shouldn't be saying this online, but I doubt any of you would remember this 5 months from now (unless it stuck with you.) A reason I joined Gothwire/Hey Freaks is because I had an interest in 1. The music, and 2. The attitude/outlook on life. I don't know if any of you believe in "manifestation," but I'm trying it out, to at least have something to keep me distracted from life.
