In the announcement clip, the focus is heavily on her being a “trailblazer for the LGBTQ community” and the first openly gay FDNY commissioner—with Bonsignore herself saying experience fighting fires “won’t matter.”

Priorities highlighted: identity, pay parity for EMS, and historic firsts.

But when lives hang in the balance during a blaze, does the leader of the world’s bravest need actual firefighting command experience—or is symbolism enough?

NYC firefighters risk everything daily. They deserve a boss who’s been in the flames, not just checking boxes.

Merit over identity—or is this the future? Another form of DEI, I presume?

I'm releaved....still depressed but at least not anxious anymore...
Admittedly, overreacted a little yesterday but honestly it was kinda good that I panicked. It pushed me to not drag this out another week and go to treat it immediately. Because it was early enough, they could still treat the inflammation with only a minor procedure. And no anesthesia or other medications are neededo far So I don't have to worry about my delaying blood test next week. So now back to the waiting game...

Lately, When I express my genuine thoughts and concerns, it feels like a form of punishment.

This happens both at work, in meetings where input is supposedly valued, and in my personal life. My attempts to voice a concern or a different perspective are often dismissed as pessimism, exaggeration, or even egomania. It seems I am being penalized simply for having an opinion and for caring enough to be concerned.

Increasingly, I feel that I am being passively silenced—not with a direct command, but with subtle cues and reactions that make thinking feel like a forbidden act. I am being reduced to a sounding board, a wall for others to shout at, with no expectation of a reciprocal conversation. My role is not to contribute, but to absorb.

And then, people wonder. They wonder why I am burning out, why my energy and creativity have evaporated, why my motivation has dwindled to nothing. They don't see the cumulative weight of being silenced.
I notice that the situation is gradually affecting my body. I currently only sleep with a tight chest and painful breathing, and I wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing.

So I got talked to at work again,today. Because I said some stuff about my neighbors dog as well as a black metal artist I enjoy listening to,so i guss I can't even have freedom of speech at my own job.....sad. Might be switching departments but that probably won't help....have to see what happens,the first time was even more dumb...it was over the fact I had a colonoscopy appointment and people are asking about it,I kept on saying surgery because I get confused and info mixed up sometimes. So when I mentioned the correct reason I was met with extreme immature reactions,we'll see how much longer I'm at the Front End before switching departments.

There was a comedian back in the day who had a bit about titty fucking a crocodile down in Florida. You can't do that. Not because it's morally offensive and illegal, but crocs are reptiles. They lack mammalian glands, hence the name mammals, and it is physically impossible.

The current state of the world:

You cannot tell me that things are not pre-planned any more, the current state of the world is very dire, freedoms being stripped, control over money, what people say, what people can do, the stripping away of privacy, and finally mass-immagration in aims of reducing once fine nations to law less hell holes.

I used to believe there is stupidity not malice, now I see malice and careful design from world governments. Almost as is if they are acting from the same playbook. The end result a noose around everyone's necks.
