Soon this year will be over, and we can begin a new cycle, sliding into the next soul drain. Perhaps some of us will enjoy a glimmer of hope or happiness that will be wrenched from us suddenly, or perhaps beauty will show itself to us briefly before it melts unceremoniously into a bleak monument of apathy and death.
