So,after years of being confused as to why,I've finally figured out just why Marilyn Manson's considered a poseur.It's simply for the fact that Goth is meant to be an underground,alternative subculture.
Marilyn Manson's popularity with the masses in turn brought in a lot of poseurs and diluted the subculture as a whole.Additionally,it's important to note that he's not actually Goth in the first place,but rather he's Industrial.
That being said,I do still admire his use of shock value and horror themes in his music,although I will be giving it a break while I ponder the question of whether or not I'm still a fan.
